Cannabis Payment Gateway for Card and Crypto Payments
Cannabis businesses — including CBD, hemp, cannabis accessories, medicinal cannabis and THC products — can face restrictions from mainstream payment providers. Niftipay reviews each application individually based on the products sold, business model and target markets, then confirms the card, crypto and stablecoin payment options available to the approved merchant.
Why cannabis businesses get restricted or declined by mainstream processors
Mainstream payment providers are built for standard retail, and cannabis-related products don’t always fit that profile cleanly. CBD, hemp, cannabis accessories, medicinal cannabis and THC products can each carry different legal, regulatory and banking considerations depending on the market, so providers often respond with tighter underwriting, added restrictions, or an outright decline rather than reviewing the business on its own terms.
Niftipay takes a different approach: every cannabis-related application is assessed individually, based on product classification, business model and target markets, rather than measured against a blanket exclusion list.

Cannabis business categories Niftipay can review
Niftipay reviews applications from these cannabis-related business categories individually. Listing a category here means it can be submitted for review — not that every business in it is approved, or that every payment method is available to every approved business.
Payment methods for cannabis businesses
Approved cannabis businesses may be able to accept card, crypto and stablecoin payments, depending on their approved account configuration. Card Payments supports Visa and Mastercard, with Apple Pay and Google Pay available where supported by the device, issuer, country and merchant setup. Final payment availability is confirmed during onboarding.

Integrations built for cannabis ecommerce
Niftipay connects to the platforms cannabis businesses already use. WooCommerce and PrestaShop can connect through dedicated plugins, while Magento, custom stores, platforms and marketplaces connect through the REST API. Hosted checkout and payment links are also available for businesses that do not want to build their own payment interface. Integration credentials are issued after merchant approval.
- WooCommerce and PrestaShopDedicated plugins for both platforms.
- MagentoConnects through the REST API rather than a dedicated plugin.
- Hosted checkout and payment linksAvailable where a merchant would rather not build a payment interface directly into their own site.

How the application and review process works
Each application is reviewed against what the business sells, how it operates and the markets it targets, alongside KYB and compliance checks. Applications are normally reviewed within 2–5 business days, although complex businesses or additional documentation requests may take longer. Available payment methods and account configuration are confirmed after review, and approval is not guaranteed.
- What the business sellsProduct classification — including whether it is CBD, hemp, accessories, medicinal cannabis or a THC product — is a core part of how an application is reviewed.
- How the business sellsThe business model, such as subscription, one-off sales or marketplace, is assessed as part of the application.
- Target marketsThe markets and customer base a business sells into form part of the eligibility review.
- KYB reviewA manual review that includes disclosing any shareholder or beneficial owner holding 25% or more of the business.
Payment security and dispute handling
Niftipay applies 3D Secure where required by the card issuer — the issuer, not the merchant, decides when it is needed for a given transaction.
- Issuer-controlled 3D SecureApplied when required by the card issuer for a given transaction.
- Dashboard visibilityMerchants get dashboard visibility into transaction and dispute status; if a chargeback is filed, the merchant prepares and submits their own evidence or response.
- Account protectionMerchant accounts support two-factor authentication, roles and permissions, with applicable platform data protected in transit and at rest.
